as I wade in
the water is cool
the depth unknown
will I drop off
will I drown
will I swim
will the water swallow me
will it carry me off to some unknown
will it spit me out on a distance lonely shore
will it leave me where I stand still and unsure
my shuffling feet carry me forward
into the dark water
