April is Camp NaNoWriMo. It’s a little like National Novel Writing Month in November. The difference is you get to set your own word count goal. In November, the goal is 50,000 words. I have decided to go easy on myself and shoot for 30,000 words in April. I think it will be easier, since it’s spring. November is a terrible month for me because it’s when winter starts to creep in and steal my soul for a few months.
I am also taking an Intensive Creative Writing course this April. During this class, we submit 20 pages of a wip and everyone critiques it. I have done this before. But it was when I first started writing seriously. I am looking forward to getting some feedback. But I am nervous, too. I don’t know which novel to submit. In the last 2 years, I’ve started at least 3. And they are each at least half finished. I am having trouble deciding which to finish.
My 8 year wedding anniversary is also in April. And my mother’s birthday. April is going to be a busy month. So, spring comes and I get my soul back and will over use the hell out of it. But yay for spring!
