A new medium

If you have followed my blog at all, you know that I like to change things up. I like to try new and different things constantly. My newest work is multi-media art where I have taken my 2-dimensional work and make it 3-dimensional. It started with left over canvases from the art shows that I had 2 years ago. I wanted to take some of my boot canvases and rework them a little. My first thought was paint, but I am not a painter. Not for lack of trying. I just have to admit that paint is not where my talent lies. So, I debated on how to utilize these canvases in a cool way. While I have discovered they make great cat beds, I decided I could use them for something else. Then, I found beads. Glass beads. I love the way the light reflects, giving the photos a whole different feel. Some of these, the boots and ground cherries, are from existing canvases. The gingko and tulips I had printed for this purpose. I admit I have spent some money on some cool beads and baubles. I hope to start selling these on Etsy soon. They are way more cool in person. I am still trying to figure out the best way to photograph them to show off the beads. Some of the beads have been left to dangle and some have been glued down. I have really enjoyed creating these and hope to have a chance to create more of them.
