Turkey burgers that is.
Ground Turkey (I use 93% fat)
soy sauce – 1 – 2 TBS
feta cheese – 4 oz container
salt to taste
pepper to taste
Prepare your grill. See my post about charcoal grills. For turkey, I use lots of charcoal and let it get hot, hot, hot!. While the fire is blazing and getting those coals hot, I prepare the burgers. Place the ground turkey in a bowl. Add soy sauce and feta cheese. I use food grade gloves to make the patties. I hate touching raw meat, so the gloves make it easier for me to handle the meat. When the coals are ready, put your grate on, let it get hot. I also use aluminum foil that I have oiled well. Some folks don’t like to do that. They like to grill on the grate and clean it. I’m too lazy for that. Once the grate is nice and toasty, I place the patties on. Grill for 5 – 7 minutes on each side. When you flip them, let them cook for a few minutes on the second side, then put your cheese on the burgers. I like to toast the buns as well. You can use a meat thermometer, if you like. When the burgers reach 160 F, they are ready. Or you can cut one of the burgers open to check. Don’t worry, it won’t go to waste. Look for a post about leftovers soon!
