Unusual Fruit

The Weekly Photo Challenge is Unusual. I have a great deal of options that qualify. But I decided to go with these photos. Most people don’t know what they are even when you tell them. They also don’t understand why I would take pictures of them. But I love photographing them. The skins remind me of delicate wings especially when the light shines through. Ground cherries is part of the genus Physalis in the Nightshade Family. They are a sweet, tart fruit native to Central and South America.

  1. I love ground cherries! It so unusual that you harvest them after they have dropped from the plant. These are exquisite photos. You’ve really captured their delicate wrap!!! Mm! I can just taste them!
