Taco Seasoning
1 tbsp Garlic Salt
1 tbsp Chili Powder
1 tbsp Tumeric
1 tbsp Italian Seasoning (Oregano, Basil, Rosemary)
Combine ingredients and place in an airtight jar or bag. Most Taco seasoning recipes call for cumin and just oregano. However, as usual, I did not have either of those, so I came up with a different mix. The basil and the rosemary gave it a more mellow flavor. My husband doesn’t care much for things that are too spicy, so it was just as well. This seasoning would work on shrimp, fish, beef, chicken, or veggies.
I used this mix for shrimp tacos. I buy those shrimp cocktail trays from Kroger. I know the shrimp are already cleaned, but I clean them again. Because they’ve been known to miss a few. I coat the shrimp with 2 tbsp of the taco seasoning mix. I heat it on a medium heat pan with some olive oil. These are already cooked so they won’t need to be on the pan for long. We like beans, cheese, bell peppers, avacado, and jalapenos (for me). I also make my own salsa. Most salsas contain onion, which my husband cannot eat. It’s easy to make. Tomatoes, fresh garlic, cilantro, bell peppers, salt and pepper. If you like it less chunky you can add some tomato juice.
I paired this dish with a Blue Moon Agave Nectar Ale. Happy eating.
P.S Sorry about the blurry shrimp photo. It was last minute quick photo before they got eaten.
Looks delicious…my mouth is actually watering. 🙂

Paula, I think you could use the taco seasoning with eggs. That actually sounds good to me. I might try it.
